GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Stephanie’s at Onion Bay
… provides guests with so much more than just a roof over their heads and a bed to sleep in. The property is located on the Great Ocean Road directly opposite the serenity of Onion Bay, at Sugarloaf, 15 kilometres from Apollo Bay.

Uniquely styled, the studio apartment is tailor made to massage a feeling of well being, with soaring hills as a backdrop and the ocean in the forefront. The rhythm of the ocean is a mesmerising sedative that induces peaceful dreams while cocooned in queen-size beds, housed in spacious accommodation for couples that leaves little to be desired.

The ‘Seascape Room’ is fully self-contained with polished messmate floors and contemporary furnishings, luxuriously appointed with full kitchen, and a relaxing spa en-suite. Plenty of storage and hanging space, a music system and TV / DVD set-up, games, books and magazines assist guests to unwind. The front deck allows guests to take in an uninterrupted view of The Great Southern Ocean and Bass Strait, while the rear deck boasts a hooded gas barbecue and fresh potted herbs. Warmth in winter is provided by an innovative fire that burns wood pellets made from sawmill waste which is a boon for allergy sufferers, giving off no smoke or fumes, only the comfort and romance of a wood burning fire.

The ‘Carisbrook Room’, with a vista of restful eucalypt planted hills and rural views, is fully self contained with queen size bed and en-suite. It has an under bench fridge, toaster, tea and coffee making facilities, television and music system and the sunny deck is a pleasant place for end of day drinks. The ‘Carisbrook Room’ is linked to The ‘Seascape Room’ via a hallway making the two rooms perfect for couples travelling together.
Both suites have private entrances and a full breakfast basket is included in the tariff.

Hosts Stephanie Russell and Michael Abbott built their architect designed accommodation on the site of Michael’s childhood holiday home, taking great care with decoration and adornments. The couple moved permanently to their house on Onion Bay leaving academic backgrounds for a future in the hospitality industry. They have added a holiday booking service to their business – Great Ocean Road Getaways, – offering a wide range of vacation properties in its portfolio from luxury through to budget accommodation options, to match tenants to their dream holiday getaway.
