Wye River and Separation Creek

Wye River beachWye River and Separation Creek sit about 1 km apart on the Great Ocean Road past Lorne (155 km west of Melbourne). They both have steep hills with houses situated on dramatic sites giving spectacular views.

These two beautiful tranquil retreats provide a serene alternative to the hustle and bustle of bigger towns on the coast and each sits on its own attractive small bay with sandy beaches.

Both towns are about 15 mins drive to Lorne and 35 mins drive to Apollo Bay, close enough to be able to enjoy a latte at any number of great cafes while staying in a haven without the summer crowds. Staying at Wye River or Separation Creek you have the best of both worlds.

Kennett River

Kennett River is past Wye River and Separation Creek when travelling from Melbourne (174 km west of Melbourne). It’s approximately 35 mins from Lorne. Kennett River is known to the locals as just “Kennett” and is a quiet township on a small bay.

Wongarra

Wongarra is a tiny township of accommodation places and beaches on a stretch of coastline along the Great Ocean Road. The high cliffs and rolling farmland views are magical.

Well located between Lorne and Apollo Bay, Wongarra is the place to come to if you are after stunning ocean vistas. The beaches nearby are excellent for surfing, diving and fishing.
